'FINDING YOUR BODY'S STORY': A holistic system of health, qigong is enjoyable to do, believed to increase longevity, and induces calm mental and emotional states. Qigong is beneficial for all and can be easily adapted for anyone, from the most fit to people confined to wheelchairs or recovering from surgery.
Qigong is an ancient evolving practise that includes healing postures, movement, self-massage, breathing techniques, visualisation and meditation.
The Harvard Health Publication website states ‘A growing body of carefully conducted research is building a compelling case for tai chi (and qigong), as an adjunct to standard medical treatment for the prevention and rehabilitation of many conditions commonly associated with age’.
Writing is another healthy self-care practice, and scientific studies have shown that a regular writing practice can improve physical, mental, and emotional health in dramatic ways.

FLOOR & BALLET BARRE: Floor barre is a wonderful strengthening & conditioning programme for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Work through all the important muscle groups whilst the body is safely supported by the floor. We will then put what we've learnt into practise standing at the barre and into the centre.
